We are seeking an Intermediate Interior Designer to support our growing portfolio of office and medical projects. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and has strong technical skills with a good design sense. You will be involved in all aspects of the design process—from concept development and space planning to detailed drawing production and construction coordination. The position reports to our senior designer and VP of client projects with lots of opportunities to collaborate with other team members.

· Develop effective floor plans that optimize function, communicate through well laid out presentation materials, and design concepts that (cost effectively) wow our clients.
· Regularly prepare detailed drawing sets with layouts, demolition, RCP, millwork, finishes, and furniture plans
· Assist in selecting and specifying finishes, fixtures, furniture, and equipment with client input and while always searching for better finishes to propose when needed
· Coordinate and cross collaborate with internal project managers, clients, consultants, and contractors
· Work with the consultant to ensure drawings comply with applicable codes and accessibility standards (OBC/AODA)
· Support construction and permit documentation processes by monitoring all documents and giving a heads up when needed
· Bring a high level of positive energy in your participation in client presentations, biweekly project meetings and site visits
· Help maintain consistency in design standards and internal systems and always use your imagination to propose even better design standards

· Portfolio required
· In-person attendance at the office to collaborate with the team
· Diploma or degree in Interior Design (and more experience welcomed!)
· NCIDQ Certification is a strong asset
· Minimum 3 years of experience in an interior design or architecture firm
· Commercial interior design experience is preferred
· Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, Bluebeam, Adobe Suite and MS Office Suite and ability to review drawings for quality.
· Strong understanding of the Ontario Building Code (OBC) and AODA regulations
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Attention to detail and accuracy in all work
· Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a collaborative team environment

Working closely with the Design Team and Project Manager, the ideal candidate will:
• Project Oversight:
o Lead construction projects from mobilization through final delivery, ensuring work meets approved quality standards, budget parameters, and schedule commitments.
o This individual will serve as the point of contact between construction sites and the central office.
o Complete site set-up activities, including site documentation and preparation, completing virtual tours – training provided, contractor site orientation, temporary facilities, utilities, and safety measures.
o Perform additional work and responsibilities as assumed or requested by the Project Management Team on an ad hoc basis.

• Scheduling & Planning: Develop and maintain detailed site schedules, coordinate daily and weekly trade activities, monitor progress, identify critical path impacts, and adjust resources to meet key milestones.
• Team Leadership & Collaboration: Coordinate and manage subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site teams, fostering a solutions-oriented, collaborative, and accountable site environment.
• Communication: Act as the primary on-site point of contact for the Project Manager, Design Team, architects, engineers, and inspectors to ensure clear communication and smooth project execution.
• Technical Compliance: Ensure all work is performed in accordance with permit drawings, building codes, inspection requirements, and applicable construction standards.
• Health & Safety Leadership: Lead and enforce health and safety practices on site, including conducting site orientations, toolbox talks, site inspections, and safety audits in accordance with OHSA and company policies.
• Risk Management: Proactively identify site risks, coordination issues, and constructability challenges, and implement corrective actions to mitigate impacts to schedule, cost, and quality.
• Project Coordination & Cost Control: Support Project Coordinator duties as required, including assisting with budget tracking, reviewing purchase orders for scope and accuracy, and following established change order and approval protocols in coordination with the Project Manager.
• Quality & Close-Out: Manage deficiencies, oversee timely resolution, coordinate deficiency walkthroughs, and support the preparation of comprehensive project close-out documentation for clients.
• Technology Utilization: Use construction management software and project tracking tools to manage site documentation, schedules, reporting, and communication effectively.

Minimum 5+ years of experience of Site Supervision or Foreperson on commercial interior fit-out or office renovation projects.
Strong understanding of design-build project delivery, sequencing, and trade coordination.
Proven ability to manage projects in fast-paced, schedule-sensitive environments.
Solid knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and building codes.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with project management tools such as BuilderTrend, MS Project, and MS Teams (or similar).
Valid WHMIS, First Aid, and Working at Heights certifications (or willingness to obtain).
Valid Class G Drivers License
